Senior Claire Miller has been selected to play in the Kansas Music Education Association (KMEA) 1234A All-State Honor Band at the KMEA In-Service Workshop in February. Claire had to first audition and make the South Central KMEA District Honor Band or Orchestra. She managed to beat out clarinet players from every school in our district, including all the Wichita and Hutchinson area schools, earning herself the 3rd chair in the 1-6A orchestra, a feat only accomplished by 2 others in our school's history. From there, she had to audition to make it to All-State. She has competed against the best clarinet players from 1-4A schools across the entire state of Kansas and managed to earn herself 12th chair in the 1234A All-State band. The last person to do this was Copper Collins. Please congratulate Claire for her significant accomplishment!
